Attended 8th Ave Elementary School and High School; George was class president both his Junior and Senior years. He was awarded the School History Award all four years at DHS Served as Editor of the Daytonian 1946-47 and Editor of the yearbook in 1947. In 1995 George was the Commencement Speaker for the Graduating Class at DHS. In 1947 George enrolled at the University of Cincinnati Evening College of Engineering and graduated in 1959 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. From 1950 till 1966 George served in the US Army Corps of Engineers with 3 years active duty and 13 years in the reserves during this duty he obtained the rank of Captain. in 1947 George was hired by Cincinnati Bell as a records clerk (draftsman) and retired in March of 1983 as District Manager for Outside Plant Engineering and Construction. in 1968 -1970 he was on special assignment with AT&T in new York. from 1983 to 1999 he worked as Regional Sales Manager for telephone equipment manufacturing covering the area from Boston to Miami an Detroit to New Orleans. In 1956 George began his Public Service Career representing Newport on the Newport – Campbell Co. Planning and Zoning Commission serving as chairman from 1957 to 1961. From 1961 to 1973 he served on the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission serving as Vic-Chairman from 1961 to 1973, and Chairman from 1965 to 1973, From 1964 to 1983 George served on the Ohio-Kentucky- Indiana Area Planning Authority serving as Vic President from 1967 to 1970, President from 1969 to 1970, and served on the Executive Committee 1964 to 1972 and as Chairman of the Nominating Committee until 1983. additional service was given from 1970 to 1972 on the Charter committee of Greater Cincinnati, Crescent Springs Board of Adjustment from 1976 to 1978, Mayor of Crescent Springs from 1978 to 1990 being elected t o4 4 years terms. Deputy Judge /Executive in Kenton County from 1990 to 2000 and served as zoning Administrator during that time.
