Mrs. Linda (Klable) Brandenburg is a 1963 graduate of Dayton High School. In 1977 Mrs. Brandenburg began working at Dayton Schools as a bus driver and as a teacher’s assistant in between driving bus routes and field trips. She served in this role until 1980, when Superintendent Jack Moreland asked Mrs. Brandenburg to work over the summer cleaning throughout the district. After working throughout the summer, Mrs. Brandenburg began her work in the high school office as a secretary and attendance clerk. When the new high school opened in 1986, Mrs. Brandenburg became the high school bookkeeper. She served in that role until she retired in 2020. For 43 years Mrs. Brandenburg worked for Dayton Independent Schools and for 30 of those years she was the face of the high school front office greeting students, teachers, and parents. She was also the face of the basketball and football gates where she has worked countless games. Mrs. Brandenburg has worked with 10 different principals: Tom Hood, George Johns, Jeff Volter, Tom Madison, Dan Ridder, Curt Haun, Rick Wolf, Jeremy Dodd, Ryan Kellinghaus, and Scott Meyers. She also has work with 4 different superintendents: Tom Daley, Jack Moreland, Gary Rye and Jay Brewer. Mrs. Brandenburg is a lifelong Greedevil that has been truly missed since she retired four years ago. Since retiring, Mrs. Brandenburg lives in Florida near her son Scott, and her daughter Melissa has taken over as the face of the front office of Dayton High School.
