Adele Lamping Hanes Class of 1966

   Ms. Hanes is an innovative, diversified healthcare professional with a wide range of leadership experience. She completed her initial baccalaureate education at the University of Cincinnati and went on to study administration at the University of Michigan and the University of Cincinnati. She brings a versatile skill set including major strengths in problem solving, financial and operational analysis, and developing and implementing functional systems. Her broad experience ranges from managing staff in the hospital environment, to developing and managing the customer service activities in a technology based software firm, to processing public funding for major facilities expansion at a state university, to successfully leading a major construction project as the treasurer of a large not-for-profit board of directors. Ms. Hanes is a dedicated humanitarian. She has served on several not- for-profit managing/working boards and she has traveled numerous times to the poorest areas of Zimbabwe to bring healing resources to people in need.

SELECTED BUSINESS ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 Provided Specialized Administrative Services to a Federal Agency at the Associated Administrator level. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Provided coordination and assistance for special administrative projects initiated by the Associate Administrator

Assisted in the development and documentation of Agency internal policies and procedures Prepared executive summaries and detailed reports on project activities for the executive leadership of the subordinate Directorates

Assisted in the recruitment and hiring process for the Executive Office

 FEMA – Response Services Branch – Resource Management Section – Administrative Officer GS11 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary contact for the Response Division with the Katrina CORE Human Resource Team to facilitate hiring of Katrina CORE staff

Developed an Access database system to monitor and track the hiring process for individual candidates

Prepare reports for Section Chief detailing open/unfilled positions with statistical data as to the status of each position with regards to the hiring process

 Managed $2 million hardware customer support account. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Provided the primary contact for all customer service issues, Coordinated with software engineers and electrical engineers to resolve all issues related to an automated distribution warehouse management system

Developed a D-base data management system to track hardware repairs and software upgrades Provided regular status report to client COO, CFO and internal reports to company management

 Provided consultation services to optimize information handling on a Novell network for a not-for-profit agency.

 In senior financial analyst role, provided coordination as primary contact with the Ohio Board of Regent and the State of Ohio – Office of Budget and Management to access appropriated capital funds for major construction projects.

Coordinated with University Purchasing to advertise for competitive construction bids and provided first hand review of all prime contractor construction bid packages to assure compliance with Ohio Revised Code to meet state mandates requirements for the use of appropriated capital construction funds

Prepared reports for the University Board of Director detailing the progress and cost of capital construction projects

Prepared and submitted required reports to the OBM Controlling Board for the release of funding to the University – Attended OBM meetings as necessary to provide support for report data

 While treasurer of a not-for-profit organization, chaired a $1.6 million building project to purchase, renovate and expand a residential property to serve as a 32 bed shelter for victims of domestic violence.

SELECTED NURSING ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 Provided professional health care consultation and oversight to team members for 6 extended in country mission assignments to Zimbabwe to ensure personal health resulting in no serious health issues.

 Provided leadership for baccalaureate teaching team leading to 100% success rate on students’ state board examinations.

Reviewed and revised curriculum for the next academic year based on student and instructor feedback

Designed numerous certified continuing educational offerings for both in-house and region wide presentation to meet state mandated requirements for nursing continuing education credit Presented content in area of clinical expertise

Coordinated course presentation, analyzed and evaluated student feedback and revised the Critical Care Core curriculum – this was a course designed to prepare experienced staff nurses for work in a critical care unit.

Planned, coordinated and presented critical care training required to meet JCAHO accreditation

 Developed and coordinated 10-week critical care work study program for junior baccalaureate nursing students. This program proved to be an excellent recruiting tool for hiring new graduate baccalaureate nurses into the critical care setting. The program became a 2 credit hour elective course at the senior level for the University of Michigan, School of Nursing.
